Behind the scenes
My name is Jesper Aagaard Petersen. I am 36 years old and living in Trondheim, Norway with my partner Tale and my two daughters, Sofie (3) and Anna (1). Although I was born in Copenhagen, I am working at the Programme for Teacher Education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology as a voluntary exile. I recently attained a doctorate in Religious Studies at the same university by defending the thesis Between Darwin and the Devil: Modern Satanism as Discourse, Milieu, and Self. This project analyses the “satanic milieu” of producing, distributing and consuming Satanism from which new groups develop. You can see an example of my work here.
This blog was originally intended as a diary from the diaspora, but as I am slowly settling in, I have changed the layout, language and aim to be more of a post-it wall. Here you will find undeveloped thoughts, excerpts from articles in the making and comments on everything I find interesting. I hope some balance will be struck between the research log and the ridiculous.
